Message from the Principal

Immaculate Conception School is a caring, welcoming and safe school community that is committed to Catholic education for all students. Our school offers spiritual, academic, cultural, athletic and arts activities and events which we believe will allow each student to reach his/her full potential. Our school provides a learning environment where Catholic values, virtues, the Gospel teachings and beliefs are an integral part of daily life at Immaculate Conception School.

Our school belongs to the St. Kevin's Parish community in Val Therese. Father Jackson is the pastor at St. Kevin's Parish, and he is instrumental in helping us to deepen the faith of students and staff. At Immaculate Conception School, each student is encouraged to: Believe, Be Who you are, and Be All You Can Be.

About Immaculate Concpetion

Immaculate Conception is a Catholic elementary school of approximately 300 students located in Val Caron, a growing community about 20 minutes north of Sudbury. At present, a continuum of learning is offered from JK to Grade 6 in two possible programs – Regular English and French Immersion. Students are directed to St. Anne Catholic School in Hanmer for Grades 7 & 8 or Marymount Academy (for girls only) for Grades 7 to 12. Bishop Alexander Carter is the Catholic Secondary School our students attend beyond Grade 8. Students who have been identified through IPRC (Identification Placement Review Committee) process are able to access a Multi-grade setting to meet their needs.

A learning environment where Catholic values, teachings and beliefs form an integral part of daily life is easily observable at the school. Father Jackson from St. Kevin’s Parish provides wonderful support to our school community. Mass is celebrated at the school as well as at the church and numerous liturgical celebrations are provided to our school community throughout the year.

Community of learners where minds, hearts and faith in God's love are nurtured.

We are committed to a safe and respectful learning environment, where everyone helps to nurture the development of a love of learning, self, neighbour and God.

Our Mission

"To realize each student’s potential within our inclusive Catholic learning community by nurturing and developing their mind, body and spirit. "

The Sudbury Catholic mission statement answers the questions who are we, and what do we do. Every organization needs to define its fundamental purpose, philosophy, and values. Our mission statement explains why our organization exists, and describes the needs our organization was created to fill.
